A problem with a purchase?
Open your order to see the available actions. Do not confirm a handover if the item is not as described.
Buy with confidence
What should I check before buying an item?
Compare the description, photos and price. During an in-person handover, check the item before confirming receipt on Lebonplan.
- Ask about defects, accessories, actual condition and additional photos.
- For a valuable item, ask for proof of origin if available. A missing receipt does not prove an item was stolen.
- For a phone, check the IMEI and make sure it is not locked to someone else’s account. This check alone does not guarantee the device’s origin.
- Meet in a busy public place. Test the item without putting yourself at risk.
How do I receive the item?
Items are currently handed over in person. Once payment is confirmed, agree on a time and place with the seller through Lebonplan messages.
- Check the order status in My purchases.
- Check the condition, accessories and agreement with the photos and description.
- Only confirm the handover after receiving and checking the relevant items: confirmation triggers payment to the seller.
Payment and protection
How is my money protected?
Lebonplan holds the seller’s share until you approve the item. Money sent directly to a seller outside this payment flow is not covered by this escrow.
- Pay through the official checkout with Orange Money, MTN MoMo or your Lebonplan wallet.
- Check the item at handover. Do not confirm before receiving and checking it.
- Your confirmation triggers payment to the seller. Processing the payment may take some time.
- If the item is not as described, report it from your order before confirming handover.
How do I cancel an order?
Open the order in My purchases and use the cancellation action when available. Items whose handover has already been confirmed are not cancelled by this action.
- Select the relevant order in My purchases.
- Review the cancellation summary and the amounts concerned before confirming.
- If the item presented is not as described, use the non-conformity action instead to open a dispute.
- If the action is no longer available or a payment is still processing, contact support with the order reference.
The item is not as described. What should I do?
Do not confirm the handover. In your order details, report the non-conformity before approving the item to open a dispute when this action is available.
- Describe the difference from the listing and keep photos and messages as evidence.
- Use the order’s item-not-as-described action and follow the steps shown.
- The relevant funds remain held while the dispute is reviewed. Any refund depends on the outcome and the funds still in escrow.
- If you have already confirmed or cannot find the action, contact support with the order reference.
Where does an approved refund go?
An approved refund is credited to your Lebonplan wallet. It is not automatically returned to the original payment method.
- Check the order or dispute status to see the approved amount.
- An escrow refund covers the seller’s share, excluding commissions; it may be full or partial depending on the resolution.
- Check your wallet for the credit and the available options to use or withdraw it.
- If an operator payment completes after cancellation, check the order tracking or contact support before paying again.
I already confirmed handover. Can I still report a problem?
Contact support with your order reference and useful evidence. Confirming handover has triggered payment to the seller; reversing it or obtaining a refund is not guaranteed.
- Keep the listing description, photos and relevant messages.
- Explain the problem and mention that handover has already been confirmed.
- Support will review the available options based on the transaction’s status. Do not pay someone who promises to unlock a refund.
Sell safely
How do I prepare for a safe sale?
Use real photos and describe the condition, defects and accessories. Keep messages and payment within Lebonplan’s tools.
- Set an accurate price and stock level, and update the listing if availability changes.
- Answer the buyer’s questions and agree on a public place for handover.
- Let the buyer check the item. Their approval on Lebonplan triggers release of the relevant funds.
- If you disagree, keep useful evidence and contact support.
Does a screenshot prove payment?
No. Check the official status in My sales before handing over an item. A screenshot, forwarded text message or promise of payment is not enough.
- Open Lebonplan yourself and check the relevant sale.
- Do not pay unusual fees requested by a buyer to ‘unlock’ a sale or refund.
- If the status is unclear, contact support before handing over the item.
Scams and reports
A listing or an item’s origin looks suspicious.
A very low price, an inconsistent explanation of origin or an erased serial number should prompt caution. No single sign proves that an item was stolen.
- Do not pay if you have serious doubts, and do not confront the seller.
- Keep the listing link and relevant messages.
- Contact Lebonplan to report the facts without publishing personal data.
- If you have serious evidence of an offence, contact the appropriate authorities without putting yourself at risk.
I think I have been scammed. What should I do?
Stop the conversation and keep the evidence. If you have paid, contact your payment operator promptly as well as Lebonplan support.
- Do not send more money or open suspicious links. A payment requested to unlock a prize or refund is a warning sign.
- Keep messages, the listing link and transaction references.
- Report the situation to official support. If credentials were shared, secure the affected accounts.
- Depending on the circumstances, also contact the appropriate authorities. Reporting a scam does not guarantee recovery of funds.
Protect my account
How do I protect my account or respond to suspicious access?
Use a unique password and never share your credentials. If you suspect unauthorised access, change your password and contact support.
- Open your account settings to change your password. If you cannot sign in, use ‘Forgot password’ on the sign-in page.
- Secure your email address as well if it may have been compromised.
- Sign out of shared devices and avoid links demanding urgent sign-in.
- Open the official lebonplan.cm website yourself instead of following an unknown link.
Can support ask for my PIN or a code received by text?
No. Never share your password, Mobile Money PIN or a confidential code with someone claiming to be a Lebonplan agent.
- Approve payment through your operator’s official flow, without revealing your code to the seller or support.
- If someone asks for these codes, stop the conversation and contact support yourself through Lebonplan.
- If you have already shared a code, contact the relevant service promptly to secure your access.
My personal data
How do I learn about my data and make a request?
The privacy policy explains how your data is used. To request access, correction or deletion, contact support through the website.
- Read the privacy policy for information about data collection, use and sharing.
- Describe your request and provide the email linked to your account, without sending a password, secret code or unsolicited sensitive document.
- Ask support for any details you need about data retention or your request. Some information may need to be retained for obligations or ongoing disputes.
Lebonplan will never ask you to share your password, Mobile Money PIN or a confidential code received by text message.
